I was watching one of my favorite movies recently. “Apollo 13” which stars Tom Hanks about the mission to the moon for a 3rd time but instead ended up being a get the crew home safe mission. It’s one of my all-time favorite films.
Watching it got me to thinking, whatever happened to the space race and exploring new territories? It just sucks now-a-days. Yes, they’ll send probes up there and people up there to do tests and fix things, but it’s just not the same as it was when we went to the moon. That was an important event in American and human history. Kennedy pushed us to go to the moon before the 1960s were out – not because it was easy but because it was hard, and sure enough we got there! so much left in that mass universe to explore yet ever since than, nothing has been of major importance in space exploration.
I’m all for more space exploration! I would love to go to mars and to the further ends of the universe.
